In South Africa, the Garden Route is a wonderful self-drive option: the scenery is magnificent and the outdoor activity options make it a great holiday for walking, cycling or boating enthusiasts. From December-April, Botswana is alive with birds and baby mammals: whilst this is known as rainy season, the rains tend to last for an hour - usually in the late afternoon. There are some excellent offers on - see our Desert, Wildlife & Falls itinerary and a suggestion for a low season Safari.

With access routes across Southern Africa, it's perfectly feasible to arrange a few extra days at the beginning or end of your main trip. Perhaps a few days relaxing on the beach in Mozambique; a trip to the magnificent Victoria Falls, a few days in Cape Town or some unusual options such as Wilderness Escapes in Namibiai.
