In South Africa, the Garden Route is a wonderful self-drive option: the scenery is magnificent and the outdoor activity options make it a great holiday for walking, cycling or boating enthusiasts. The route can be combined with some time in Cape Town, seeing the whales offshore (May-Nov), experiencing the gastronomic delights of the winelands and perhaps a couple of nights' Safari on a malaria-free Eastern Cape Game Reserve. A Safari & Beach combination provides excellent variety, and we have sample itineraries for a safari in South Africa's Kruger National Park, with beach options on an island off the coast of Mozambique or in a luxury lodge on South Africa's KwaZulu Natal coast.

We can tailor make honeymoon itineraries: some suggestions include spending a few days at the magnificent Victoria Falls, then on safari at one of Botswana's luxury camps, before heading off to the beach in Mozambique, Zanzibar - or to Cape Town.

Luxury safari options in South Africa include staying at Richard Branson's Game Reserve, then on to an exclusive eco-boutique-lodge off the coast of Mozambique, or Rhino Tracking in Kruger then snorkelling the magnificent coral reefs in South Africa.

A self drive trip to Namibia's desert - for a hot-air balloon excursion at sunrise, then on to the coast for a scenic flight over the shipwreck-dotted Skeleton Coast, on to Etosha National Park for Game Drives and a stay at a reserve dedicated to the rehabilitation of Leopard and Cheetah would provide a memorable trip.

For the more adventurous, a bushwalking safari in Zambia's South Luangwa Valley, followed by a trip to the Victoria Falls - and perhaps some beach relaxation, is an option.

Cape Town's excellent restaurants, trendy bars, beautiful beaches - plus of course the winelands, makes for an excellent break over the new year. The temperature is warm, too! Call or email us for ideas.

From December-March, Botswana is alive with birds and baby mammals: whilst this is known as rainy season, the rains tend to last for an hour - usually in the late afternoon. There are some excellent offers on - see our Desert, Wildlife & Falls itinerary and a suggestion for a Xmas Safari.

With access routes across Southern Africa, it's perfectly feasible to arrange a few extra days at the beginning or end of your main trip. Perhaps a few days relaxing on the beach in Mozambique; a trip to the magnificent Victoria Falls, a few days in Cape Town or some unusual options such as Wilderness Escapes in Namibiai.
