Trip Summary
This short trip combines a short time in Namibia’s capital city with 3 nights at a reserve dedicated to the conservation of Big Cats, and with easy access to Windhoek from Southern Africa, can be easily tagged on to the end of an existing trip.
The lodge where you will stay is home to a non profit organisation committed to long-term conservation of Namibia’s large carnivores, especially cheetah’s and leopards, and guests will have the opportunity to witness some of their work. The organisation has rescued more than 850 cheetahs and leopards and over 85% have been released back into the wild. Guests have an opportunity to take game drives or walks to track cheetahs, learn about the leopard and cheetah welfare programme, watch nocturnal activity from a hide and take a bushman walk to learn about tribal culture survival tactics.
Accommodation is in a beautifully appointed lodge on the reserve: accommodation is in individual African – style chalets. The lodge has a pool and communal lounge. Dinner is in the main lodge area overlooking a waterhole where various antelope may pause for a drink, and afterwards guests may choose to sit under the stars around the boma. Guests will wake up to views of the African bushveld without needing to move from their beds!

Itinerary
Day1. Pick up car and drive to Windhoek: perhaps spend free time taking a city tour or shopping for gifts from the City’s craft markets. Accommodation will be in a luxury B&B. (Meals: none included)
Days 2-5. Drive to Big Cats reserve, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon activity. Organised activities tend to take place in the morning and late afternoon, and you have time to relax in between. (FB including activities). Drive time approx 3 hours each way.
Day 5. Return to Windhoek.
