A holiday in Namibia offers huge variety: the desert in the south is unforgettable at sunrise, the bush art in Damaraland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Etosha National Park contains lots of waterholes for watching fabulous wildlife activity on a Namibia safari. The country also offers some excellent unusual experiences: stay on a reserve dedicated to rehabilitating Cheetah and Leopard back into the wild, and track the Cats on foot and in vehicle, or on a reserve where ‘Save the Rhino’ are operating, and track Black Rhino with expert guides.

Hot air ballooning over the desert, eco-quad biking on the sand dunes and cruises – where seals commonly jump onto the back of the boat – are also available, and great to combine with a Namibia safari trip. One lovely way to complete a trip is to stay on a Spa & Game Reserve where you can have treatments in the bush and relax in the beautiful African bush before your return flight. Accommodation standards are excellent, and whilst the distances are vast, the roads are safe to drive.

There are also options to take a scenic flight over the eerie Skeleton Coast, or up to the very remote northern border with Angola, to Epupa Falls – where the Himba people live. If budget allows, opt for a short stay in either of these areas.
