Toronto’s countless attractions, events, landmarks, heritage sites, parks, markets and shopping spots guarantee you’ll never run out of things to do. Even locals find themselves discovering new adventures in their own backyard.

Browse produce stalls, café and restaurants, arts and crafts and one-of-a-kind vintage shops in bohemian Kensington Market, the postcard pretty Distillery Historic District, St, Lawrence Market or at the Evergreen Brick Works.

Zoom up 140 stories of the iconic CN Tower for the best views in the city, and step out for an Edgewalk around the top, if you dare. Get dinner at a one of a kind restaurant in Queen Street West, shop at the posh Yorkville district, then catch an MLB, NBA or NHL game. Toronto has enough to keep visitors occupied for a week: most will spend a few days here.

Algonquin Provincial Park

Just 3.5 hours north of Toronto, Algonquin is Ontario's oldest and largest Provincial Park. It spreads across a huge 2,946 square miles with maple-covered hills, rocky ridges and 1500 lakes. The park provides an enormous playground for lovers of the outdoors, with pine forests, jagged cliffs, trickling streams and lakes. There’s a wide choice of activities to try out, but one of the most popular way to explore the park is by canoe, with over 1,200 miles of canoe routes.

The park's forests are home to beavers, otters, deer and bears, and moose. There are also wolves in the park, and in summers the rangers hold a weekly 'Public Wolf Howl' where you can learn more about them and try your howling skills.

As well as its waterways, Algonquin also has mountain bike tracks, 14 hiking routes and some of the best trout fishing in Canada.

Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake

From the backbone of Ontario, the Niagara Escarpment, across the breezy Lake Ontario and Lake Erie shorelines and finally to the thundering Horseshoe Falls, Niagara region’s dramatic landscapes and southern latitude contribute to uniquely perfect grape-growing conditions. Renowned for its breathtaking natural wonder, Niagara Falls, Niagara is also Ontario’s most established wine region, home to over 120 wineries producing internationally recognized, cool-climate varieties, including Rieslings and Ice wine.
But waterfalls and wine are just the start.
Take a boat tour to get up close to the Falls or try the Niagara Skywheel for an elevated view. Niagara Falls offers year-round fireworks displays, a nightly illumination of the Falls and a festive Winter Festival of Lights. Embark on Niagara’s ultimate whitewater adventure tour into the Niagara Gorge, the famous whirlpool, and through Devil’s Hole Rapids.

In Niagara on the Lake, stroll the mature tree lined streets and browse antique and boutique shops at ease in this laid back town. Located in the heart of Ontario’s wine country, this quaint village has a serious focus on quality food and drink. Of note: the region is home to some of Canada’s oldest and most established vineyards. With almost 40 wineries in the region, there is a tour to suit anyone's tastes. Pop in to a winery for a tasting or try a bike tour or a guided tour with a local operator. Make sure to sample the region's signature Icewine, make from grapes left on the vine past the typical harvest season, until the temperature dips to approximately minus eight degrees Celsius. Once frozen, they are carefully hand-picked and processed immediately. Icewine production is a time-sensitive, labour-intensive process that also requires more vines than any other wine. The freeze concentrates the sugar and minerals in the grape, resulting in a complex liquid with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. A definite must-purchase-souvenir.
