Kilimanjaro - The highest freestanding mountain in the world!
At 5 895 metres it is Africa’s highest mountain. Although not to be taken lightly, any reasonably fit person can reach the summit of Kilimanjaro, and there are several routes available. You will need a minimum of five days for the hike (but preferably six or more days), and you ascend from the steaming tropical rain forests, through heath land, to alpine desert, finally reaching the permanent glaciers and the summit, Uhuru Peak.
Native Escapes offer regular departures for ladies/individuals or groups. We will discuss, in detail with you, the different routes available, as well as the preparation required for such a trip. Our guides are the best available, their enthusiasm knowledge of the region and care of you will ensure that your hike is comfortable and rewarding.
We also have travel add-on options that enable you to explore the region further after your climb, like safaris to areas such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, or to go and relax on the pristine beaches of Zanzibar.
Attached is an example of an itinerary for one of the routes, the Machame Route.
