Namibia self-drive. Mr & Mrs Franco

  • Namibia

I just wanted to let you know we’ve had a fantastic trip, what a beautiful country and everything was extremely well organised.
Thank you for your hard work in putting the itinerary together, making the reservations, etc. Altogether, an amazing honeymoon!

Mr and Mrs Franco, Woolwich, London. Self drive Namibia honeymoon, June 2017.

Botswana and Zimbabwe. Mr & Mrs Schlesinger

We returned from Africa yesterday and want to thank you for setting up an awesome trip and an unforgettable birthday for my wife. Although the trip was a large investment, I can’t imagine getting a better experience regardless of the price. I’ll give credit to your relationships with the lodges for that. We met some very experienced Africa visitors (up to 27 times!) and they all agreed our trip was very well arranged.

Botswana was a perfect start for our safari experience. The short scenic flight from Maun, the singing and dancing welcome by the staff, and the tents over water were all magnificent. Since it was out first stop, we marveled over each impala, elephant and hippo. We hated to leave and couldn’t imagine how anything could get better.

In Zimbabwe our arrival experience was absolutely magical. A comfortable pickup time from Vic Falls, an interesting 2-3 hours through the countryside, and our arrival at the Dete station where our private Elephant Express awaited and then we rolled 2-3 hours down the straight track. They even let Kathryn drive for a while. On our final day, we visited a local school and picked up a full load of kids on the way. We all agreed this was was the best experience of our trip. Sibs honking the horn of our safari truck and uniformed school kids rushing the truck from all directions. We piled in at least 30 kids and they immediately started to sing a variety of their favorite songs all the way to school. Needless to say, we hated to leave. I will encourage everyone to include Zimbabwe on their Africa trip.

You’ll notice I didn’t talk much about the animals we saw. They were all great but what made this trip special was the people and the experience they created for us. I’ve never seen my wife so happy and our friend Pat was blown away as well. Thank you for putting together the perfect trip for us.

The trip was simply amazing. I was so pleased with every aspect of it – the guide (Elvis) was great, the accommodations were top notch, and the overall itinerary and pace were perfect for what I was looking for. I’m glad that I did the add-on nights in Victoria Falls as it was truly a spectacular sight and a great capstone on my first trip to Africa.
Thank you so much for all of your help.

Explore Namibia, Mr and Mrs Tabron

We did indeed have a fantastic holiday, with an excellent guide both in terms of his knowledge and his personal skills, awesome landscapes, plentiful wildlife including birds.
It was a delightful surprise to have my birthday especially remembered, as I don’t think I indicated it when asked if there were any special dates while on holiday. The staff at Anderssons Camp sang me a lovely Namibian ‘Happy Birthday’ song at breakfast time, then later at Tree Tops the special bottle of sparking wine was shared, as also was a huge birthday cake with plenty to spare for the staff.

We both really enjoyed the Etoshsa area the best, and the accommodations at Anderssons and at Tree Tops were amazing. Sossus Dune Lodge and Mowani Mountain Camp, and their respective areas were fantastic too. I expected to be bowled over by the dunes, Dead Vlei etc, and was not disappointed. The slightly less dramatic features of the Seserim Canyon, plus the Organ Pipes up near Twyfelfontain (from memory – I hope the spelling communicates, even if it’s not correct), were bonuses.

South Africa Safari. Ms Taylor

The safari lodge was beautiful, the location of the honeymoon suite – overlooking a waterhole – was very special. Really great service and outstanding food!
Cape Town was stunning, the hotel there was nice and in a good location. We felt like we could easily have had more time here, so much to see and do!
Pringle Bay was probably the part of the trip that surprised us most (in a good way!). Moonstruck must be one of the nicest guesthouses I´ve ever stayed in and the quiet, remote, sleepy feel to the village made it a lovely place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city, it was a gorgeous drive there too. Absolutely stunning!
Frankschoek was delightful, some great fine dining and a real European feel to it, the guesthouse was beautiful too. The Wilderness and Plettenberg Bay were both beautiful and we got in some great walks and kayaking and even a dip in the sea despite it definitely getting far chillier by the end of our trip! The Lodge in particular was delightful, we were the only guests in the lodge on our second night and got some lovely ‘honeymoon’ treatment!

It´s the first time we´ve done a holiday organized by an agency and it was a delight to have everything organized for us, cars, transfers, accommodation, flights. And a fantastic itinerary!
I would definitely recommend Native Escapes in future to others!
