Tailor-made Malawi. Ms Ward
I loved the trip. For myself it was not seeing the land, but the poverty…and the state of the roads. I got good at racing down the road pulling up bushes to lay in the road to warn oncoming vehicles that we had trouble. You don’t use red warning triangles..
The staff at the various places that I stayed were so very gracious. At Nyika, I ate with the staff in their dining hall, as it was crazy to have Isaac to spend his time looking after me. They said that I was the first white person who had ever eaten with them. So, personally I had a lovely surprise around each corner. Instead of game viewing I was happier to go to their little school and shop for the ladies..etc.
The lake was just lovely and my best part of the journey…just flop on the beach sand and read.
I will very definitely arrange my next trip with you. Once again, so many thanks, and the places that I stayed were very impressive.
Zimbabwe and Malawi. The Lewis Family
The organisation in Africa was second to none. At all ends being met with great team of drivers, so could not have asked for anything more to make the trip run smoothly.
The Hide was out of this world – – superb guides, as many drives/walks as you could fit in – exceptional staff/food and small enough to feel you were the only people being looked after. It goes without saying Game viewing was more than we could have hoped for. We were surprised quite how cold it was at night but nicest touch was jumping into to bed each night and finding hot water bottles in bed – small things but that made it more special!
At Vic Falls – again hotel – top drawer – superb views over waterhole and again surprised by an African choir singing happy B/day at dinner one night!
Final trip leg to Malawi – again superb transfers – and highlight of that was flying in on to Likoma Island on a 5 person plane and getting to sit in other pilots seat – an amazing experience. As for Kaya Mawa – what can I say – Your recommendation was spot on and would not have changed this part. The staff treated you as family, the accommodation was fantastic and unique. The water was crystal clear and warm – and no salt!– great snorkelling – kayaking – we did Quad bike tour of island with guide to see Cathedral and market as well as visit to local “factory” run by Widowed mothers and children. Again the food was exceptional and every evening they set up your table on the beach with lanterns and you ate by the lake shore
It really was the holiday of a lifetime and I have you to thank for making all the pieces come together as well as the locations/recommendations. I will certainly be recommending your services to anyone we talk to about the trip – thank you so much for making this a truly memorable trip for the whole family with many memories to treasure.
Self-drive Namibia, The Bewell family
We loved it, our son has been sad ever since we got back…his best holiday ever and why did we have to leave!
Anderssons and Desert Homestead were lovely, the new family room at Desert Homestead was nice. Anderson had a good atmosphere, the new hide is fantastic you can almost reach out and touch the animals. The accommodation at Anderssons was good but rustic, tin bath shower, they gave us two tents connected by a walkway and the children decided to be brave and share their own tent. Staff were nice, they did marshmallows over the fire with the children, our driver for the evening drive was fantastic and determined to find us rhino and lions.
Etosha was great, we decided to detour and drive from Huab to the western gate and then drive through the park to Anderssons giving us an extra half day in Etosha.
All in all the holiday was great and we will defiantly be heading back, possibly with Botswana added on. Thanks for helping us put this together.
Self Drive Namibia, Mr Henn
I had an absolutely fantastic time in Namibia – lodges were great, food was fantastic, people were really friendly and scenery and wildlife was breath taking. It was all over too soon!
